History of Box Lacrosse in Quebec
The Montreal Express were not the first professional box lacrosse team in Quebec. 1968 saw the Montreal Canadiens play in the short-lived National Lacrosse Association. In 1974, the first edition of the National Lacrosse League featured the Montreal Québecois. In 1975, the Quebec Caribous were added to the league. The Caribous won the championship that year, but the league folded at the end of the season.
